Star Wars: Uncut

Ōkami

After two whole years I started playing Ōkami again, from scratch. One of my favorite PS2 games, and certainly one of the most beautiful. Check out the opening (actual gameplay look at 1:16)

Amazing art direction and soundtrack. A great story and lovable characters. Superb gameplay.

Initially it was supposed to be more photo-realistic 3D, like this preview shows:

But they decided to go with the cell-shading, citing limitations in PS2 hardware. Great decision if you ask me, makes it much more unique. Besides, the new look brought the famous Celestial Brush gameplay feature into the game. Here's a side by side comparison:
